Is it possible to define a different shape than a circle for BOM balloons?

My BOM balloons contain longer strings of text, so the Balloons get pretty big.
I would prefer them to either be Oblong Balloons or remove the balloon all together.

Are these related to a repeat region? If so, the symbol for the balloons is a property of the repeat region.

Yes they are, but I cant figure out how to change that Symbol.

I have 10+ options in Catia, but I can't see how to change it at all in Creo.

What I recall is that you add the symbol to the drawing and then use the symbol in the table setup; Creo cannot know about all symbols in the universe, so it limits the choice to those in the drawing (or at least in memory.) Catia may have 10+ options - Creo lets you create as many as you like. The difficulty is that Creo software developers often provide tools to do much more than the pre-packaged solutions that are convenient in other software. This usually means the user needs to read the user guide first.

Hi, 3DDave is right.
You have to create a custom symbol first and callout the rpt.index parameter in the symbol, enclosed in \text\. The back slashes are specific to symbol parameters. Then after placing a repeat region on drawing. Go to table properties, balloon symbol > custom, browse to symbol. Watch this might help: Link
