With regards to electrical continuity across pipe flanges to bs 7671. I assume this would come under supplementary bonding and only be required to be 4mm cable. Just wandering what others think?

Thanks.

Thanks for this.
Do you know if there is a way to calculate the required width, thickness to bs7671?
Thanks

Normally the flange bolting provides a conductive path far better than you'll get with a bond conductor, especially on something like stainless. For what purpose are you being asked to install the bonds - static dissipation, bonding of extraneous conductive parts, something else? And if the joint is an isolating flange, for what reason was it provided - does this plant have cathodic protection?

There are existing bonding straps across the flanges which we are being asked to replace. From what I have seen the straps are different across flanges of the same size. Can’t see anything in bs7671 with regards to sizing them? Pipework contains water. I am not sure if there is catholic protection. Is there a method as to the sizing of the straps?

Thanks
