Hi all,
Problem Description:
I want to simulate the pressure-sensitive bonding behavior of an adhesive.
So let's say there are two parts which are brought in contact with an adhesive between them (there is yet no bonding between the parts)
The bonding is then established by applying pressure to the parts. So if a certain pressure limit is reached and retained for a certain amount of time in a region of the adhesive, the parts should become bonded in that region, and if not, they continue not to be bonded (or they are only partially bonded).
I've read the ABAQUS documentation about cohesive elements, but to my understanding these elements can only be used to model problems in which a bonding is already established.
Can anyone provide me a possible solution to this problem?
Thank you very much!
