I suggest "Lyons' Valve Designer's Handbook". You should be able to find a synopsis at Amazon.com or any on-line book seller.

i have come across the book called Valve Handbook by Philip Skousen, which is worth the buy. it gives contemporary information on valves. you could check it out with a leading book seller.
