I have been training electrical engineers at different companies. What I need is some information on finding a simple book that covers relay logic, ladder logic and controls using magnetic coils.

I am not looking for programable control information.

I found that young engineers in thier late 20's and early 30's have a limited knownage of controls and relay logic. A training book that specialise on this topic would help.

When I was thier age I learn it on the job from other engineers so don't have a clue where a good book exists.

I think that colleges then and now do not cover this topic enough.

thank you all I will check them out.

The book I am looking for is one that shows logic with the use of relays. These guys know how relay operate but not how to apply them. a small chapter will not really cut it. I need some extensive examples and problem solving of real usage using logic with magnetic relay. something that shows how a shunt trip breaker would be used in a panel circuit. A starter contactor with aux contacts, relays, switch sensors, selector switches and push buttons for controlling motor operation for a compressor, pump, fan HVAC Unit, heat pump, crane, door motors and some type of process system etc.

thanks cvirgil the electric motor controls by rockis is what I need

try

"On Partial Contraction Analysis for Coupled Nonlinear Oscilators", Wei Wang, Jean Jacques E. Slotine, MIT March 2003, published in Biological Cybernetics 92/1 2004

it is the RIGHT way how do it....

ENJOY my DEAR RIGHT MAN ....

thanks for the tip but these guys are rookies.
