Hello,
I'm a licensed engineer in WI and mainly design HVAC systems. I like to venture into plumbing design as that often is part of the project. What resources (esp books) should I look into?
WI has its own plumbing code (not IPC). I also have a lot of the WI-specific design manuals (which are part of the WI master plumber exam). I have a commented IPC book (even if not adopted here, principles obviously are similar)
I found the following books and would appreciate if someone could advise on their usefulness or suggest other ones:
- ASPE Engineered Plumbing Design II
- an older ASPE series of ASPE Plumbing Engineering Design Handbook. ASPE doesn't have them anymore, so I assume they are obsolete or redundant by the above book?
My employer pays for books, but not for any courses. So self-study is what it is. We also have a Master plumber on staff, so I can review practical details. I'm also thinking of taking the Master plumber exam (WI allows engineers to take the exam without actual plumbing work experience).
