Hi,

I am currently working on a tunneling project and we are about to embark upon quite a few rotary cored boreholes from the invert and crown of the tunnel to determine if there is any pressurized water bodies in the area. We are currently just using excel to mark out strata boundaries and some formulae to would out elevations etc but there is no plotted out log. Is there any excel based logging software that can be incorporated to make graphical representations? Or any other software that is recommended for this type of borehole log within a tunnel? Especially any free software would be very useful...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Seenan

gINT would be very helpful. They will produce log for you as well some other fancy stuff such as fence diagram etc.

While not free, the Arduino comes bundled with Labview, which is often used for datalogging in general. Labview has a bunch of data collection and processing capabilities, as well export to Excel.
