I am looking for a 4 or 6 cylinder boxer diesel in the moderately low horsepower range. Does anyone know of an available engine?

Re boxer diesel: Are looking for a lightweight (190 pounds) 100 to 130 hp diesel?

That would be a good size - I'm looking for a potential marine conversion.

A friend of mine is building this engine. It is a new design based on the WWII Junkers contra piston design. I am currently working on a marine version.

If you want mor info about the engine let me know at my personal e-mail - turboace13@yahoo.com. The engine is a two-stroke supercharged contra-piston design. So far we have over 1000 hours of testing and the engine is running pretty good. Only four have been built so far. The maximum demonstrated power on test is 135 HP. The engine is practically loafing at these numbers with a piston speed of only slightly over 2000 feet per minute and a 150 MEP. Marine conversion will uses a water cooled exhaust manifold (actually boosts power).

Sounds interesting. I am interested in a 100 HP engine to power a small helicopter. Ive been looking at turbines (T62, JFS100) but yhey burn too much fuel. It would have to run on jet A1 so a diesel is an alternative. It would have to be light (65 kg). A radial is in the works at Wankel. Do you think your engine would be able to do the job ? The engine would make an excellent hlicopter engine capable of delivering 100 HP to about 12,000 feet Denalt.

turboace,
I too am looking for a marine unit of approx 90-100 hp and would like to be kept posted on your progress. I assume you are using the basic blo ck of a major manufacturer. I'm replacing a 50hp perkins. Good luck.
