Hello friends,
I'm drawing a gearbox and need to draw a section view through a dividing plane. There is a shaft and a gear in this section so i have made them non-sectioned in a section properties. Now i need to make a break-out section view in this section view because of a parallel key detail in a joining the shaft and the gear. But there is a problem, NX doesn't make break-out section trough it because the shaft and the gear are marked as non-sectioned. Could someone help how to do break-out section view in section view through an earlier non-sectioned marked component?
Thanks for answer

what maybe works fine for you to define the section through a
assembly cut then you can do a breakout secton view in drafting

I'm facing the exact same problem, any solutions?

Andreas

I have solved it realy through assembly cut in modeling (extruding and substracting cylinders in areas where i needed break sections), then the keys were visible in drafting, but i thing there has to be any simpler way to do it...otherwise it's a big NX bug :(

I found a nice way to solve it. Activate PMI and go to PMI->Section View. This creates a section cut in the model and displays the results in a 3D section view.

Then go to your drawing and add a base view. Now you can select your PMI Section View and you can create a break-out section in this view.

Andreas

Could you use a detail view instead of a breakout?
