I have to lay control cables from switchgear to PLC control panel for the status of breakers and control switches. does this cable has to be shielded as these are for Digital Input to PLC. and should it be separate from current signal which is analog 4-20mA shielded.
I appreciate your comments

It is good practice to separate discrete and analog signals. Do you need to shield the discrete ones? Short answer: probably not. Long answer: If these are going to be run nearby power carrying conductors such as in a cable tray and going directly to the PLC, then it might be necessary.

If it is broken, fix it. If it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

The distance between the switchgear and PLC cabinet is 15 meters only and probably unshielded will be acceptable.
