How do I specify the depth of a breakout section in NX8.0 Drafting. There is an option to "cut thru model"?.... I need the cut to go to a specific depth, I can't think of a situation where I would not need to specify the depth of a cut...

The depth of the cut is based on what you select as your base point and then it cuts from that point thru the model in the direction specified. If you cut thru the model the diecrtion of the cut doesn't matter because it cuts both ways all the way.

When you're creating the 'Break-Out' section the second selection step, as shown below...

...is where you select that point in the model where the 'Section' will start (or stop depending on how you think about it). Generally you have to select that point from another view on the drawing.

Ok thanks. I see now that the "base point" is kind of the final depth of the cut.

Thanks it's working well now.
