Brick Veneer as support for exterior canopy roof?

Does anyone has a reference or know that a brick veneer wall can be used to support an 8ft wide exterior canopy roof? The backing of the brick veneer is 12" CMU. THere is 2" space between them. I would like to anchor angles @ 24" o.c. to support the small roof trusses. Anyone has any suggestions, against or comments?

(the canopy roof is supported at each end, i.e. simply supported condition - Not cantilevering)
