Bridge design software for steel superstructure

The 10th edition of the AASHTO specs is bringing some changes for cross frames and it doesn't look like MDX is going to get their act together anytime soon. It might be okay for a straight non-skewed bridge, but that's about it.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good steel bridge design program? A good friend tells me LEAP Steel is junk. Larsa and Midas are overly complex and take a lot of time to create models.

What are some other options? Is CSI Bridge any good? Appreciate any recommendations.

I don't have any detailed insight on this but I'm most familiar with CSI Bridge for this. It works reasonably well and they have responsive customer support when issues come up. You might look into LUSAS and Sofistik as well.

I haven't heard anything about the AASHTO 10th Edition yet - do you know when its coming out?

"Multiframe" currently own by Bentley is back on the market. It's easy to use and allows for quick modeling of complex structures.
