My designer submitted the design of 30m deck span 3km long viaduct design using PSC girder for railway loading . He considered all span simply supported .He designed one typical deck and transfered the load to pier separately. I asked him to model viaduct in full to check the lateral and longitudinal stability of the viaduct . My question is how to check the wind ,seismic stability of mutispan long viaduct when pier heiaght is varying .

Also, in the case of continuously welded rail you will need to run non-linear rail/structure interaction analysis. This analysis should include thermal load and effect of the broken rail. It's a very involved analysis, better be done by a person with experience in this matter.

Yes we are doing rail/structure intraction analysis as per UIC . But for ballasted track it is also necessary as most of the thermal stresses are taken by ballast before it is transfered to bearing .
