Hi All,

If I have a component in an assembly, is there a quick way to create a new coordinate system at the component level such that the new coordinate system coincides with the assembly coordinate system?

Thanks

Simplest option, activate the component in the assembly and insert a new coordinate system using the assembly coordinate system as the start position.

Or,

In the assembly, Analysis>-Measure>-Transform, and the pop-up box gives you your x,y & z values to create an offset co-ord system in the part. (Careful with the signs for each translation)

In transform you can save the data as a "info.trf" file by picking info at the bottom RH of the measure window then do a save as this way you don’t need to manually input the data. When you create the csys in the destination part, in "offset type" pick "from file" then drill down to the file....loads the exact co-ord's.....
