Broadcasting Digital Transmisor Heat Dissipation

Dear sirs:

I am Mechanical Engineer working in Air Conditioning project.

In order to conclude a preliminar cooling looad estimation, for a room containing a 100 KVA digital broadcasting transmissor, I need estimate how much heat that kind of equipment realease to the surrounding space.

Could you give me an approximate heat release quanty?

Can you tell us the transmission power? A 100kw AM signal? Or ??

I don't think that an estimate is the appropriate approach. A modern digital transmitter should be fairly efficient. But this means that you get rapid changes in the waste heat as the efficiency gets closer to 100%. As an example, 95% efficient would have five times the heat of 99%.

Also, there may be failure modes to be addressed.

You could probably look it up on the specification for the system. If not, then contact the OEM (Nautel or whomever).
