We are looking to use a bronze bushing in a vehicle differential planet gear (i.e. high-load, low speed, oil lubrication). We are looking at either Al Bronze CC333G = C955000 or a phosphor bronze. We are getting different values for a recommended max bearing pressure depending on where we look. The Al Bronze yield stress is 250-280MPa, however we have got recommendations on max pressure ranging from 65MPa down to 7000psi = 49MPa. Phosphor bronze (e.g. PB2) is less strong but again we cannot find a reliable design pressure.

Can anyone give me a good number to use for Al Bronze and Phosphor Bronze for design against max load and operating load? Is it related to the yield or UTS?
