Do any of you have STD BS 230 M07. We deal with ASTM standards only. We require valve with body ASTM A105. But the manufacturer is offering BS 230 M07. Manufacturer is not sure if BS230 M07 is equivalent to A105. Hence, we require STD BS 230 M07 to compare it with ASTM A105. Further, do any of you have idea if BS230 M07 is equivalent to A105.

ASTM A105 is, as you know, a carbon steel forged material for pipe components. Anybody offering you alternatives should also offer chemical analysis, (material certificates), and arguments for the reason of offering a different material.

As far as I can see this is not a direct equivalent of A105 (nor a forged material?). It might for all I know be a better choice, but why offer different? In such cases the supplier most often have internal and own economical or product limitations as reason.
