Hi all,

I have some question for BS 6364 Appendix A3.4. of cryogenic test.
"A.3.4 After completion of the test, dismantle the valve and in a clean, dust-free environment. Check for ease of dimantling and examine all component parts for wear and damage."

I recommended the customer to see seat and disc without dismantling, but Our customer insists that the valve shall be disassembled even bonnet and want to see sealing part(packing).
Is that right procedure? I think all cryogenic test will be invalid if the sealing part is opened.
Please advise me whichone is correct and recommend me how to solve.

Thank you in advance

BS 6364 is a valve design qualification test. Not a production test. That is why you measure the effort to operate the valve against various pressures up to the full rating and take the valve apart for inspection afterwards. If you are using BS 6364 for production testing, you need to remove requirements to complete these steps. Or start to use more current standards such as ISO-28921 -1 and -2.
