Sep 17, 2009 #2 PeterCharles Mechanical Oct 31, 2002 423 The steel in question is 817M40 (the old EN24) and classified as through hardening. "T" is the hardened and tepmered condition, and in this case "T" is 55/65 ton/in2. The quoted hardness in this condition is 248/302 HB. Upvote 0 Downvote
