Here is a short video link to the Des Moines Register -
After a downtown historic building was destroyed by fire a few months ago (during a major renovation project), the demolition contractor
is using large air bags to control a precarious lone wall still standing and protect adjacent buildings.

A unique way of providing a controlled demo effort.

Actually, those look like inflatable wiers used in some storm control situations. They can be raised or deflated depending on the steam conditions.

A pretty cleaver use of the air bags. But, I would guess they should be careful how much pressure they put in the bags, or they might actually push the wall into the demolition space, as interior framing and bracing is removed. And, if one part of the wall did start falling on the bags and toward the adjacent structure, it could have a similar affect of increasing the pressures in the bags and pushing the wall in, at other locations. A few psi is 300lbs./sq.ft.
