Hi All,

Can someone advise of a method,not procedure,to hydrost a butterfly 14" valve.
I need to open the valve and when partially or fully open, the butterfly will be projecting on either sides of the valves making it difficult to adapt a flange to perform a body test on both sides. For the seat test its okay but the body test I'm concern.

Thanks and Appreciate your feedback.

bolt some slip on flanges to both sides of the valve. then put the whole assembly in test. This will give you some clearance to open the valve.

If a high performance type with offset shaft, for hydrostatic shell test at 1.5x rated pressure, just remove the seat. This way the valve can stay fully shut. Then install the seat and perform the seat test.
