button image prevention of changing

ok i see that there is another post on this but i would like to get into greater detail on it does anyone know how to take a multitude of bmp files convert it to a .DLL file as windows uses with desktop icons and just reference one file or is there now a better way to do all this currently trying to create a block set for use with builders to make my estemating easyer but anyway biggest problem right now is getting all the icons on my tool bars to keep their icon images with out editing the mnu file and setting a folder for the images and hard coding that specific location

any help is greatly appreciated
