how do you design the footing on a buttress wall? would you be designing the slab as a oneway slab? negative moment towards the buttress wall? if so, hope could you compensate the negative moment that the wall will experience as my slabs moment will be travelling to the walls.

This book is the only place that I've seen an example for this: Link.

I would be inclined to treat the slab as continuous but pin-supported on three sides as this would be fairly consistent with stiffness and common joint detailing. There are a number of assumptions that could be successfully employed, however, as long as one follows the loads though the structure rigorously.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
