C purlin briding material/size that is easily available to contractor to buy

I plan on using bridging in between C purlin instead of sag rod.
I went to flexospan and a few roof website and noticed they don't have it.

I want to make sure the bridging material/size I'll be using will be easily available for contractor to buy.

Are these hot rolled channels or cold formed cees? If channels, you will have to specify your own. If cees, the bridging should be part of a system.

I'll be using cold formed Cees. Not sure what you meant by part of the system. If I'll use 8" Cee, Ga 14, what do I put in the drawing for the bridging? Just a general "provide bridging for purlin"?

Maybe in the US, you don't have proprietary purlin systems. In Australia, companies like Stramit and Bluescope publish extensive information such as load tables and construction details,including bridging. It may not help you, but if you are interested, google one of the Oz sites.

I was looking at my previous thread and one poster said he use 6" 16ga metal stud. I guess calling it like that in my drawing should be enough information for contractor to buy it at any roofing manufacturer.
