I'm working with an older drawing (~1970's) which specifies a material as "cast iron C25". I'm not familiar with this type of cast iron, and after doing some searches I cannot find any information on it. I did find cast iron CL-25, which may have been what they were specifying. Does anyone know if this is a type of cast iron, and if so, where I could find its properties.

Can you verify the design using class 30 cast iron?

Class 25 indicates a minimum tensile strength of 25000psi gray iron casting

Probably EN-GJL-250 (old 0.6025 or GG-25) if it is really cast iron or GS C25 (1.0619) but that is cast steel.

Are going to be making new parts? For small quantities fabricating from steel can be more economical and a lot quicker. Based on our recent experiences of extremely poor quality of cast materials and parts I look askance at all cast parts anyhow.

Is this GS-C25? If it is, then it's a cast high temperature electrical steel primarily used in structural components subject to internal pressures at working temperatures between approximately 300 and 600 degrees C.
