I placed the order of cable with cable tech spec; "control multicore cable with armor and common shield"
However, potential supplier proposes that shiled be deleted from cable construction because armor can function for shielding. It is understood that armor works as shielding but I'm not sure if this application does not violate codes or rules(IEC or DNV).

Armour makes a lousy shield, especially where the cable bends. Bends distort the armour and open up gaps where RF leaks in (or out). Armoured instrument cable with either individual or overall screen (or both) is common enough: tell your cable supplier to supply what you want or take your business elsewhere.
