Dear All,

I have a cable which it's bending radius is non-standard and too high.

So we cannot connect it to the motor.

An idea is to remove its external sheath and armour. So it should be possible to bend the cable more easily.

What do you think? Is this method technically acceptable?

The motor is installed in hazardous area.

Thanx

No, that doesn't sound sound (pun intended) since the armour is part of the grounding and any violation in an Ex area would be against all practice and wisdom.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

We can connect the armour to ground by other means. Will it solve the problem?

Howdy farale,
No, I agree with the Skog, this does not sound like a good idea.
Don't forget that the armour serves an integral part of the overall "approved" cable assembly. (ie you can't just remove it, especially in a HL).
What you might be able to do is remove the armour and replace it with rigid metallic conduit (at least for the last bend into the motor's t-box).

I agree with Skogsgurra since the armor serves as hazardous location area protection.
See-for instance:
If your cable is not suitable for this application you have to stop the cable before motor entering and use boxes ,conduit and suitable connectors as per NEC Art.500.
See-for instance:

Use a junction box near the motor to transition to an approved, more flexible cable.
Or, use approved condulet type fittings to change the angle of cable entry to an angle that will work with the existing cable.
