Hy guys!
Here is question for you.
Having a 15m cable, articulated at the ends. In the middle is a concentrated force of 20kN. You know that it is made out of steel and you know the diameter of the cable (so you know the modulus of elasticity and the cable area).
How do you find the sag and tension in the cable?
You can observe that I haven't said anything about an initial sag or tension.
