i'm doing a chemical compatibility study a machine we're producing around here. in that machine we've got mild steel parts that have been cadmium coated for corrosion resistance.
when cad plating was chosen, all scenarios were not considered and we're now evaluating alternatives. of course we need to know if there are additional problems that may arise with our units.
does anyone know of chemical resistance charts out there that would have cadmium plating in them? typical process streams we've got passing over the plating include hydrogen, carbon dioxide and monoxide, water, methane, methanol, naptha...
