I received a drawing for a extruded steel food conveyor from a vendor in Mexico. I have a profile and an annotation that reads cal. 11

is that in reference to calibre? I am not coming up with what that translates to. I can ask them directly, but they are a little slow to reply sometimes, plus I'd like to learn more.

Thanks

thanks, so I guess my question is, what is "11 gauge". I can sort of infer that it is just 11 mm, but that is different than the English Gauge system for steel. I don't think this conveyor is 11 gauge English -- that seems too thin. I did ask the client as well.

11 gauge is a hair under 1/8"... extrusions with that thickness are going to be relatively stiff and robust.

Wouldn't shock me in the least if that's correct.
