Hello,

I have a question on calculation of piping wall thickness.

According to Appendix A table A-1 in ASME B31.3, CSA can be regarded as equivalent to API 5L, for example, CSA Z245.1 Gr.550 vs. API 5L X80.

In Table A-1 basic allowable stress of API 5L Gr.X80 is limited to use up to max. 400F, that is, not allowed using above 400F.

A CSA Z245.1 Cat. III Gr. 550 in our specification is specified up to max.650F.

How can we calculate the wall thickness of this CSA pipe without basic allowable stress value at 650 F in table A-1, ASME B31.3?

I would appreciate it if any of you answers to my question.

B31.3 would limit its use to 400F, so there is no point in calculating yield at 650.
