Recommended for you

Integrate the cross sectional area over the length and add the volume of your (unspecified type) heads.

(pi*d^2/4)*l + volume of heads.

In your example this would be 3140 cu. ft. + volume of heads.

It seems to me that something is missing about your question because it is not hard to figure out. Are perhaps refering to determining the volume of content partially filling tank?

If you or anyone else needs to find the total (or partial) volume of a horizontal (or vertical) cylindrical vessel with 2:1 Ellipsoidal (or ASME F&D, Flat, Hemispherical, & dished)heads, let me know and I'll send you a copy of my Exel 2000 workbook that does this for you, complete with formulas and references. I've already posted this in another thread (which I forgot) sometime back, and I've emailed out over 50 replys.

My worksheets are pretty simple to use. All you are required to furnish is the basic data like I.D., T/T length, & type of heads. You also get a Strapping table.
