I'm working a bit outside of my comfort zone when it comes to vibration.

I'd like to take a center of mass/weight, the vibration/shock input, and the mounting points/spring constants and calculate the responses for natural frequency and transmitted vibration/shock load.
The system can move and receive input in X Y and Z either one at a time or all simultaneously.
Is there any good literature or guidance on how to have a system like this in generalized equation form?

In 3d? wow. My background is modal analysis and yes we could do a forced response, much the same as the FEA boys in the frequency domain.

In the time domain that's roughly what we do with vehicle models.

All the above is done on computers not by hand.

However, have a poke around on Tom's site, as it sounds like the sort of thing he discusses

Cheers
