Hello everyone,

I am looking for a way to calculate the pressure loss through porous plastics, without data from a manufacturer.

Is there any global theory about this? Or is one always refered to the manufacturers data ?

Off course some information is required, like outer velocity/pressure and porosity of the material, but this is available.

Thanks in advance

I know of the Darcy-Forhheimer equation (Delta p = C1*V^2+C2*V), which relates the pressure to the velocity through the porous surface, which is the relation I want.

But the problem is that you need the coefficients C1 and C2, and I don't have those.
I could retrieve them from experiments, but I'd like to skip those. Is there a database for these kind of coefficients ?

I want to find the relation between pressure loss and velocity, and not only calculate the pressure.
