Hello,
I would like to learn the basis of calculation principles when it comes to design of substation bus structures. In particular, when it comes to the forces (kN) applies to the steel structure, equipment, cables with the respect to forces due to short circuit currents. Structural engineer will very likely omit this factor unless these horizontal forces (phase to phase) comes from the electrical. Having said, the known data is short circuit current and time, voltages, phase-to-phase spacing and clearnance from the ground. What is correct method to calculate kN factor due to short circuit current.
thank you.
