I'd have thought there were functions that captured the SmartDriver behavior, although frankly you actually know both the desired path and the actual path.

I think by measuring the slip angle at each tire(it will be a function of vehicle speed). That will give you the dynamic turning center, From there you can calculate actual TCD. [If I remember correctly the formula is given in this book:-]. Or You can plot understeer gradient that will give you an idea what is the actual path.

Thanks
Alok

I was thinking of creating two markers one in the ground and other on C.G and create a request to get the distance between two.

Thanks
John

I think in CRC test distance between those two marker won't change(educated guess). Its better to measure the yaw angle. Can I ask why you are measuring paths in CRC test?

Thanks
Alok

You certainly can measure the path of the CG, although that in itself is interesting due to roll, and you can of course plot the ideal path.

I misspoke, i was thinking about SmartDriver, you'll be using the Driving Machine as described in the Getting Started guide. I'm pretty sure there are requests to interrogate the DM.

Hi Alok, I'm measuring paths to calculate deviation. i.e I need to understand when the vehicle is starting to slide away from the target path and at what speed.

Hi Greg,
Yes I'm exploring how to create requests to get extract required information.

I'm not having much luck googling for DM interrogation requests, it might be worth trying the Hexagon support forums.

Cheers
