Can Catia Search Sub Folders For Part Files

I am still unclear about
1) Can Catia search sub folders of the folder "folder of the Link" Setting, and if so how.
2) How do I know where teh relative path starts. Is there an ini file or something that can be set.

I want to copy files off the server and work on them locally for speed, and then put them back on the server in a different relative path. I use sub folders in my relative path to organize parts.

Further, Someone else may want to copy the files locally, and then edit them. They will lose all the links if there is not a way to tell catia to look in sub folders.

Help is very much appreciated.
