11/4" drop down is against some ductwork and the super is trying to make me move it.
Same with the conduit.

Not enough information is provided to answer the question. Putting certain materials in certain ducts with demonstrating a compliant reason to the Mechanical or Building inspector is a violation of the IBC or IMC. The MEP or Fire Protection Engineer needs to work this out.

It soumds like you are saying that a piece of the sprinkler pipe is touching the outside of a piece of duct or conduit????

Yes, Just passing along side of it. Just happens to be touching it.

I do not think there is one in the sprinkler

Maybe the duct might vibrate the pipe, causing a problem a hundred years from now

Maybe ask the gc for a code reference

Sure it's not a "code violation". I'd be more concerned that it's a sloppy installation. If you are ok with that....

Yes, I have seen this (or something quite similar) and recently. The sprinkler line was run in a warehouse and the duct work was installed later and it crossed the sprinkler line right beneath a sprinkler causing an obstruction. The fault would lie not with the mechanical contractor who installed the ducting, but with the engineer of record who didn't catch it.
