Hello,

I used scale for parts but i was trying to scale a whole assembly but i can't find features.
Can I use scale in an assembly as well?

Regards

You'll have to scale each part of the assembly.

I have the same problem, I am looking for scaling a very big assembly, and when I tried to scale each part, I got a big mess coz of scaling around centroid , it will not respect distances

Thanks

is there a way to use scaling and keep the distances between parts reasonable?

handleman,

I'm honestly not suggesting you do it, but would it be a major undertaking to create a macro which traversed an assy, created a list of components, distance mates, assy plane offsets, etc., and then used the ModelRescaler macro from to re-scale those listed objects?

This question has been asked several times over the last year or so.

Probably not... It would probably take about 4-6 hours in all to do testing of different scenarios, confirm what happens in patterns and other assembly features, investigate how to really check for linked dimensions (current ModelRescaler only checks within same sketch for same name - not for actual linked dimensions).

it is a big assembly that i imported and it contains about 170 part.

I tried to save as part and rescaled around coordinate system and it worked fine with me, at least i can import it as a part now and insert it in my assembly.

Thanks
