Can I convert the concentrated load to be distributed on slab?(I mean is it permitted)

Dears;
An urgent question that I have to design for a deisel tank, it's base. the tank is 12.5 m* 2.80 m *2.4 m and it has three steel legs to be put on. The legs are 2.80 m * 0.50 m * 0.50 m. Shall I consider the load of the tank to be distributed on the three legs then put this load on the slab to design for it . Or it is permitted to distribute the load of the load over the whole base per unit area ? please show me with reliable reference.

One would think that it would depend on what calculation you are trying to do. There are probably calculations where the 3 point loads need to remain point loads, and there are probably others where it's not important.

I suggest that you upload your image from your computer to some other file exchange server, and then provide a link. Or, you can create a free account on, say, awardspace.com, upload the file (using, for example, FTP commander program), and then provide the URL of that image.

Does your file name have spaces? That's sometimes a problem.
