I graduated years ago in energy and nuclear engineering, but I’ve experience only in small residential architecture firms. I became discouraged, because I was out of context, without enough skills and possibility to have certifications in that field, so I did just simple office tasks, without any career goal. I’d like to work into large industry sector, such as power plant, large energy consultancy, oil&gas. But, at 34 years old, will it be possible?
Can I apply for a junior position, or am I too old?

Find a way to turn your description of that listless period into a time of self discovery and you'd have a shot. As long as you can convince them that you're 100% invested in this new path, and that you don't mind the grunt work and low pay that comes with entry level work, your age and (hopefully) maturity should give you a leg up against the recent grads you'd be competing with.

I sort of went the opposite way. I worked in Nuclear as an operator and a technician, then got a Civil degree and went looking for work in structural engineering. My age and other experience got me my entry level structural engineering job.

34 is young.

People have to look for new jobs at all ages. If you haven't forgotten your engineering you will be fine.

Don't limit your applications to "junior positions". Companies sometimes have "unusual" job openings where an odd mix of education & experience are exactly what they are looking for. At age 32, I was hired for a mid-level engineering position by an electric utility that required a Mechanical Engineering (Energy) degree plus extensive heavy structural construction experience.
