Right now we are not using assemblies with "components" (another arguement for later). We have a file with multiple "bodies". Is there a way to get these bodies into a parts list?

No.
You can manually add rows to a parts list, but that's all, and what is in that row will not be associated to the body.
You are able create components from those bodies using the "top-down" method, and then they will show up in the parts list correctly - but they will have their own part file.

As you now have to do it, the best you can hope for is to have a "dumb" parts list, same as if it were a board drawing (AFAIK).

That is what I have found too, thanks for the help

If you assign attributes to a body assign them to the solid and edit the parts list level to add it to the parts list by selecting the solid. As you can see from the attached you'll get some attributes from the solid, but not all the interpart ones.

You can also by the way do similar things for other types of geometry. I don't know that it always achieves everything you may have hoped for but at least you know that something can be done.

That is interesting, I will have to work with this a little more to see if it will work for us.

Thanks
