Hello,
I have a scenario where a client wants to have a cantilevered 2nd floor with a wide window with just barely enough room(17") for a hardy frame to resist the lateral force. Problem is that this portion of the wall needs to be supported by a steel beam underneath. I've seen details of hardy frame on top of steel beams but the design needs to be calculated by the structural engineer. Has anyone used this method before?
