Does anyone know of any internet resources which would give basic design examples for either concrete or steel which would be designed per the CAN/CSA-S6-06 code?

The closest I can think of is the Alberta MoT. While they do not give specific design examples, the have a large number of standard section drawings available. Comparing a design to what they suggest should give you an idea of whether you're in the right ballpark, as long as you remember that Alberta uses a heavier truck than the CL-625.

Hi

I am structural engineer (not bridges), I am having a situation where I got to design indutrisl building floor (slab on grade) in Alberta with seim trailer coming inside the building with piece of equipment and bridge crane (30 tonnes capacity) then lifts it. That is all info I have right now. Now my questions are

1) How many axles are considered in semi trailer and what is their axle load distribution, can some one guiide me in this regard.

2) What is the normal wheel contact area taken?

Appreciate your response

I have always found the PCI bridge design manual to be a great resource, even though I practice in Australia and it is written to a different code (AASHTO/ACI) with different units, once you get past this you can find it to very helpful.
