Why is it that I can't put a draft of more than .5 degrees on an extrude? The sketch is from an imported dxf and its quite complex. It contains a lot of small lines that I wish were splines instead. It's a text logo. Any ideas? Thanks.
My guess is that:
A) One of those lines would disappear with that draft--and cause a surface problem.
B) One of those lines isn't tangent with the others and would create a problem if extruded (surface flaw).
In this case, I ALWAYS retrace the logo to get what I want. Attempting to import a DXF sketch and use it for almost anything--most especially a drafted feature--is normally a problem. Trace over the DXF sketch to create what you need, then extrude it and hide the DXF noise.
Sure. Start a new sketch and use lines or splines. Get as close as you need, use the new, clean sketch. Piece of cake, but can take some time to get all the elements represented.
