System: Using SW2000, windows 2000 service pack 2, Video card is Guillemot's Xentor 32 (nvidia ultra TNT2), 512 MB RAM
Question: In my drawing I have a front view (think of a simple cylinder for simplicity) and a section view (the section is a side view of the cylinder cut vertically right through the center). In the section view I have "hidden in gray" turned ON in order to see a particular hidden thermocouple hole location, which I need to be on my printout. However, there are other hidden bolt hole edges in this section view that I would like to hide or turn off. When I right click on one of these hidden bolt hole edges and hit the option "hide edge" it disappears temporarily only to show up (be visible) again when I zoom in or out. If I again right click on that same (visible) hidden bolt hole edge I only get the option to "show edge" when it is still clearly visible (shows up on printouts as well)! Note I have the "select hidden entities" option turned on otherwise I wouldn't be able to select these hidden edges in the first place. Note this same type of problem appears with other parts/assemblies in my drawing views as well so it can't be limited to just this particular model. I have wondered if this is a video card issue - maybe the card does not properly recognize these lines? I have also wondered if it has something to do with the fact that these hidden line edges are from a cylindrical cut feature in the model and maybe SW2000 has problems working with these kinds of edges? Any help would be greatly appreciated - this problem forces me to continue to use 2D AutoCAD instead of 3D Solidworks to do many of my designs - Arrghhh!!!
