Hi,

I'm having issues WAVE linking Curve segments from a top-down, seed file sketch.

It seems if the seed file sketch curves are Referenced, I can no longer WAVE them as a Curve segment (this behavior seems new).

WAVE linking the whole Sketch still works but not what I'm trying to do.

I'm aware of the new Inactive Sketch option, Display Reference Curves, but that has already been enabled and I'm able to visualize all the sketch elements.

I do not own the top-down seed file so I cannot save it so I will have to ask the owner to un-Reference the sketch curves, unless I'm missing something.

Any suggestions - is there a setting I can enable/disable to fix my problem?

Hi
I want to trying.
I'm using nx 8.5 and have a Wave license.

Will build a file with some sketch.
and build another file and add to it the previous sketch file as
a component and then I'll trying to wave link curve segment
from it.

Is that simulate your needed task.

Thanks.

Hi a984928,

Thank you and, yes - sort of.

I'm in a top-down Wave linking situation but it should behave the same if you Add the sketch file/component directly in your assembly file and Waving linking from there.

However, the issue is using the Composite Curve Wave option on a single Sketch element/curve that is Referenced (no issue Wave linking a single element of a Sketch curve that isn't Referenced).

In NX 8.5 I don't think it stopped you from Wave linking a Referenced curve from a Sketch but if you could confirm that, that would be helpful.

Thanks again!

Hi SMO

Now after I read your last Post I remember that I encounter this problem
in nx6 and I always changed from reference style to solid style
and do linking and go back to sketch and reconverted to solid style.
and this way I overcome this issue.

This from my smartphone.

When I'll be on my desktop I'll check it in my nx8.5
Thank you very much.

Hi SMO

I test it in nx8.5 and it works smoothly.

What I said in my previous post is projected curve from two sketches
And not curve linking.
and in nx8.5 its work the same as in nx6.

If I link ref curve I get ref curve link
And if I link solid curve I get solid curve link.

Now I do not know why it is not work for you.

I'll need to explore the settings somewhere
if I'll find I come back.

Thank you very much.

[pre][/pre]For now what I found is shown in the above picture.

If the setting is parent object then the curve style is like the parent
object style and if the setting is part defaults then the curve style
is like the part curve default style.

I'll keep explore and see what's there.

Thanks.

a984928,

Thank you for looking into this but I think this is an in NX 11.

If I find out more I will post here.

SMO Thank you.

In December my company upgraded to nx11.
I'll remember to check it.
