Carbon manganese steel vs. carbon steel

Dear Materials Engineers,
Is there any advantage of using carbon manganese steel compared to normal carbon steel in fully pressurized LPG service (temp from 0 to 50 deg. C)?
In general, what is the difference between this types of steel?

If you are fabricating pressure vessels for LPG service, you have to follow requirements of the code of construction and this includes use of approved materials for pressure vessel construction. There are approved pressure vessel steels like C-Mn, C-Mn-Si, etc which have been subjected to testing and qualification for use. You cannot arbitrarily select a steel for pressure vessel construction.

Are you familiar with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code?

Yes, I'm familiar enough with ASME, and i do agree with You that "You cannot arbitrarily select a steel for pressure vessel construction".
But I found some article in offshore industry newsletter about carbon steel tanks for FP LPG. It confuse me a little bit, so i asked about that subject.
