Hi All,

Anyone knows how much carbon tax oil & gas operators need to pay as a result of burning gas on their platforms in UK 2022-23? (£/tCO2eq)

Best regards,

Thanks, this is really helpful. But I am a bit confused. Based on my research there are two component in carbon price floor: 1. Emission trading scheme UK ETS (which currently stands around £80/tonCO2e) and 2. Carbon price support (which is set by government and stands at £18/tonCO2e). Now I am trying to calculate how much money an operator is saving by not burning natural gas. I think it is up to the operator what kind of deal they've chosen. If it is ETS they have some carbon emission allowance after they surpass that they need to pay ETS rate £80/tonCO2e or they go for the carbon tax and pay £18/tonCO2e no matter how much they emit at all. Please correct me if I am wrong!
